The Foghorns

Bart Cameron is the man behind the Foghorn's music.

The Foghorns are an aggressive folk/ country/ rock band from Brooklyn resituated in Iceland due to frontman Bart Cameron’s job as editor of English-language alternative newspaper The Reykjavík Grapevine. Until recently, the Icelandic version of the band featured a large bucket. Now, they have returned to a full-band format for their new album.

The British web zine LiveonStage described The Foghorns peculiar take on rock and performance as “the most frustrating and yet exciting show of Airwaves’ opening night” in 2005, adding that even for fans who aren’t fans of country music, the Foghorns “twist the genre into their own Icelandic style.”

Lyrics and humor are the focus, usually, but more and more The Foghorns are adding more complexity and a heavier rhythm section to their live shows.

The Foghorns will release their next album just in time for the festival. They also hope to release a special CD single of their collaboration with Benni Hemm Hemm of a song titled “I Will Only Love You When You’re Dead,” in early summer.
