Jakobínarína
Jakobínarína, shortened “Jako”, started in December 2004. A group of youngsters which consisted of Gunnar (vocal), Hallberg(guitar), Sigurður (drums), Björgvin (bass) and Ágúst (keyboards). Their goal was to play fresh “body movin’electro indie rock” inspired by bands such as !!!(chkchkchk), Kraftwerk and the Futureheads.
Jako participated in a musical contest better known as “músiktilraunir (battle of the bands)” in March 2005. Jako ended up beating the rivals and taking the first place. By getting this far, Jako earned a good reputation for their music as well as being a great live act. Shortly after the contest, Jako recruited Heimir of Lada Sport as their second guitarist. Since then Jako have improved and sharpened their music and they’re single and ready to mingle.
