Nortón

Norton is the kind of band you don't want to miss when attending an outdoor music festival in summer!

Nortón has, amazingly, been around since its founders were in their early teens. Atli Bollason, Kári Hólmarr and Leó Stefánsson decided late last century that an Icelandic hybrid of funk, hip-hop and dance music was of the utmost importance and set off on a musical journey.
Due to their young age (and laziness) shows were few and far apart, and it wasn’t really until the spring of 2005 that the band became fully formed, when guitarist Högni Eglisson was added to the already tight line-up of trombone, keyboards and vocals, while sticking to the electronic drums and bass that truly set Nortón apart.
After a handful of succesful shows in the spring and summer of 2005, word is on the street that Nortón are one of the best party bands around, managing to pack various Reykjavík venues and getting people to shake their butts at any hour.

Nortón have spent 2006 recording their debut album slated for release this summer. The record’s songs will see Nortón expand their sound-palette to include heavier, rockier sounds, while improving their cocktail of house, funk and pop.
